Draytek Outage / Vulnerability

Draytek Outage / Vulnerability

There is currently a wide-ranging issue with Draytek routers that do not have up-to-date firmware. Last October, Draytek released firmware updates to address various security issues in their line of routers. More information regarding these updates can be found here: https://www.draytek.com/about/security-advisory/

If you have a managed router from Eclipse Wholesale, the device should already have the latest firmware. However, if you are experiencing issues, please contact our team, who will be able to investigate further. Please raise a support ticket by emailing support@eclipsenet.co.uk or calling 0344 243 5555.

If you have a Draytek router that is not managed by Eclipse, you must ensure it has the latest firmware version from Draytek. If your model is EOL (End of Life), you will need to upgrade to a supported model with up-to-date firmware.

To restore temporary service, you can disable any inbound services running on port 443 / SSL on the router. For most models, this will be the SSL VPN service and remote access. This is not a guaranteed fix and will still require a router upgrade.
